After the current seeming non-story involving the Sun taking a pop at the BBC with shoddily-evidenced claims of abuse, I found myself looking up some of the #HIGNFY clips that weren't televised back in 2011, where Jimmy Saville was discussed.

What I didn't remember was that one of the guests on that show was Graham "Glinner" Linehan. And it was remarkable to see him back then, before his descent into transphobia. He was articulate, intelligent, maybe even a little charming.

I have no sympathy for him now - he chose his path, chose to double down and lash out and hurt people. He ended his own career and marriage as a direct result of his hatred.

But if anybody ever needs evidence or a reminder that transphobia literally destroys your brain, they need only look at Graham Linehan.

Yeah, he used to come across fairly well. And he's turned himself into a miserable joke. For nothing! It's so bizarre.
